ALPS Presents 360-degree Rotary Sensor with Only 3 mm Height |
For automotive applications and home appliances |
Duesseldorf, Germany, November 25, 2004 - With the RDC80 series ALPS Electric Europa GmbH offers surface-mountable hollow-shaft type rotary sensors that enable output covering the whole 360-degree angle. This large range was enabled due to the adoption of a 2-phase output. The low-profile rotary sensors have a floor space of 15mm x 15mm (L x B) and feature a low height of only 3mm. They are rated for voltages of 5VDC and suitable for lead-free reflow soldering. Further technical specifications are a total resistance tolerance of 10 kΩ ±30%, an absolute linearity of ±3% and a rotational torque of 0.01Nm (max.). With an operating temperature range from –40°C to +120°C and an operating life of up to 100,000 cycles, the new RDC80 series is the ideal solution for controls in automotive applications and home appliances and for detection of rotation angels.
