ALPS Offers Wide Range of 11mm Sized Metal Shaft Encoders with/without Push Switch |
Duesseldorf, Germany, April 29, 2009 - With the EC11 series, ALPS ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH offers a series of 11mm incremental-type encoders with metal shaft. The devices, which are available in a wide selection with or without center-push switch or rather a self-return switch, are impressive for their compact architecture. Depending on the model, the encoders either provide a flat or slotted metal shaft with an operating length of 15 to 26.4mm or a knurl. The dual-shaft models have a 25mm inner shaft and a 15mm outer shaft. The encoders feature a resolution of 18/30/36 detents and 9/15/18 pulses per rotation, depending on the application. The necessary detent torque ranges between 3 and 30mNm. The center-push switch is designed as single-pole single-throw push-on switch and is rated for switching currents of up to 3mA at 16VDC. Suitable for vertically and horizontally operating direction, the EC11 series is remarkable for its long operating life with up to 20,000 switching cycles and 15,000 rotational cycles. The encoders are rated for voltages of 5VDC and have a maximum operating current of 10mA with resistive load. Their operating temperature ranges from –30°C to +85°C. Typical applications are automotive AV equipment, consumer products, and home appliances.
