ALPS Presents Combine Type Connector for 8-pin SIM Cards and microSD Cards |
Duesseldorf, Germany, April 30, 2009 - ALPS ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH unveils the new SCHG series of combine type connectors with a two-slot, double-deck structure that enables the separate insertion of an 8 pin SIM card and a microSD card. The SIM card will be inserted from the front side, the microSD card from the right side. The surface-mountable connectors are available as standard mount type. They feature a manual insertion/removal of the SIM Card and a push-push mechanism for the microSD card, which allows for a user-friendly and easy handling. Thereby the SCHG series guarantees an operating life of 10,000 insertion/removal cycles for the microSD card and 5.000 cycles for the SIM card. The robust, high-precision manufactured card connectors are remarkable for their compact, low-profile design with external dimensions of only 17.47mm x 16.2m x 3.0mm (W x D x H). Operating temperatures range between –25°C and +70°C. Further technical specifications are a maximum initial contact resistance of 100mΩ at the connector contacts and 500mΩ at the detection switch, an insulation resistance of up to 1,000MΩ and a voltage proof of 250VAC per minute. The card connectors comply with the RoHS directive and are suitable for reflow soldering. ALPS’ accumulated know-how in high-precision micro press technology and its long-standing mechanical design expertise for memory card connectors made it possible to reach the high degree of miniaturization of the SCHG series. Because of their compact external dimensions, these new connectors will increase the degree of design freedom for set makers, contributing to their efforts to produce thinner, more compact devices. The SCHG series is the ideal solution for mobile phones, PDAs, notebooks, and other portable devices. For more information on the new product please click here. |
