ALPS Presents Compact, Low-profile Slide Switch with Self-return Operation |
Duesseldorf, Germany, May 07, 2009 – With the new SSAG series ALPS ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH now offers double-side or single-side (right or left) recoil type slide switches. These surface-mountable components are remarkable for their long operating life of up to 100,000 switching cycles and their compact, low-profile dimensions of only 9.05mm x 3.00mm x 1.15mm (W x D x H). The 1Pole-3Position switches are rated for switching currents of up to 10mA at a maximum of 5VDC or 50µmA at 3VDC. Typical applications are portable devices such as digital cameras, mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and digital audio devices where the switches e.g. are used to change the operating mode, volume, zoom or turning the power on/off. The slide switches of the SSAG series require an operating force of 1N (recoil side) or 1.5N (lock side). Operating temperatures range between -10°C and +60°C. The travel length amounts to 1.5mm. The other specifications include a maximum initial contact resistance of 200mΩ, an insulation resistance higher than 100MΩ at 100VDC, and a voltage proof of 100VAC per minute. The switches are suitable for reflow soldering and are available in minimum packing units of 16,000 pieces. For automatic mounting, they are packaged on embossed tape with a width of 25.4mm.
