Double Side Recoil Type Slide Switch in SMD Format |
Duesseldorf, Germany, December 15, 2004 – With the SSSS7C series ALPS Electric Europa GmbH offers a new family of tiny double side slide switches with dimensions of 10.4mm x 3.0mm x 2.0mm (L x W x H). The surface-mountable devices are available with vertical slider positions and have a recoil mechanism that returns the slider back to its starting position. The length of the slider is 0.9mm or 1.5mm, depending on the switch type. Soldering earth terminals on both ends of the switch provide excellent strength when mounted on a PC board. Despite its small dimensions, the SSSS7C series supports a high current of 0.3A and is rated for voltages of 4VDC. They require an operating force of 1N (+1/-0.5N) and their operating life is specified of up to 30,000 cycles. The new switches are suitable for lead-free reflow soldering. Typical applications are portable devices such as mobile phones, portable audio devices, digital cameras, digital camcorders, notebooks and personal digital assistants (PDAs) where the new switches, for example, are used to change the operating mode.
