Duesseldorf, Germany, Mai 10, 2010 - With the SPVQ7 series, ALPS ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH offers waterproof detector switches for automotive applications. The horizontally actuated switches are remarkable for their compact dimensions of 14.7mm x 5.4mm x 6.7mm (W x D x H) and long operating life of 300,000 switching cycles. Conceived as 1-pole 2-position or 1-pole 1-position switches, the SPVQ7 series is rated for switching currents of maximal 0.1A at 12VDC or 50µA at 5VDC respectively. The necessary operating force accounts for 1±0.5N. The detector switches are available with left and right side boss. Depending on the version they can be mounted directly on a circuit board or are equipped with solder terminals. Operating temperatures range from –40°C to +85°C. The other specifications include a maximum initial contact resistance of 500mΩ, an insulation resistance higher than 100MΩ at 500V, and a voltage proof of up to 500VAC for one minute. The SPVQ7 series is suitable for lead-free reflow soldering and meets the RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) directives.
