KG of Derching/Friedberg, Germany, presents the new version of its successful LB series of console-mounted wire-rope winches. Thanks to improvements in the design, the hand-operated wire-rope winches with lifting capacities from 650 kg to 1.200 kg are safer, more convenient, and more durable than ever. Whether they are inserted in industrial plant construction, at construction sites, or on boat or car trailers, due to their high quality and the solid value that they offer for the money, the versatile and reliable hand-operated, console-mounted wire-rope winches from the LB models series are among the best-selling products in Pfaff-silberblau’s product range. The overall series of LB models includes winches with lifting capacities ranging from 150 kg to a maximum of 1,200 kg. For greater rigidity, the models with capacities of 650 kg or more are equipped with a reinforced housing. Due to a longer fastening plate that offers additional holes for the fastening bolts, customers can now fasten the winch on four points. This enables safe transmission of the forces to the winch fastening system during lifting operations when the wire rope is moving upward vertically. As with previous models, the housing, crank, and drive unit are galvanized and thus permit variable use of the rope-wire winches outdoors as well. For even greater protection against outside influences, Pfaff-silberblau coats the wire-rope drums with an environmentally friendly cataphoretic paint for the versions with capacities of 650 kg or more. The improvements made in the details of the new LB series of console-mounted wire-rope winches have not come at the expense of the product’s traditional “virtues”: The hand cranks feature an ergonomic design (optionally with an adjustable crank arm or a folding handle), they run very smoothly thanks to the high degree of efficiency achieved by the integral spur gear. A built-on friction disk brake with a pawl prevents uncontrolled lowering of the load, regardless of its position. Winches are also available with an automatic uncoil for manual pulling-off the unloaded wire rope and in stainless steel design. Besides the LB series of console-mounted wire-rope winches, Pfaff-silberblau also presents other new products at bauma 2007: such as hydraulic scissors lifts and the girder trolley with a handle.
