New product at Motek: Pfaff-silberblau presents CMLA – compact, high-performance electro-mechanical linear drive in unique design |
New, stylish CMLA product range promises high availability, reliable performance and optimal safety |
Kissing (Germany), October 10, 2011 – The latest product from Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products GmbH, Kissing, will be turning heads at this year’s Motek with its stylish design. The innovative CMLA from Pfaff-silberblau is a brand new series of electro-mechanical linear actuators in the portfolio of the drive technology specialist from Kissing. CMLA is the unique product of an intercontinental development cooperation among experienced Columbus McKinnon engineers and is specifically aimed at industrial use with great demands regarding availability, ease of maintenance, high operating speeds at nominal load and safety. High-quality design and technology CMLA’s features and construction are of the highest quality. The shaft tube is made from anodised aluminium and the casing from aluminium. The thrust tube is chrome plated and the mountings are made from robust high-grade steel. And even on the inside, none of the power-transmitting components are made from plastic, you will only find sintered gears and a bronze travelling nut. The standard trapezoidal screw can be replaced with a circulating ball screw. The maximum lift of each CMLA drive is fixed with inner mechanical limit switches corresponding to each size. Alternatively, external, adjustable magnetic limit switches can be used, which are fixed inside a groove on the shaft tube. Plug and play for quick use Thanks to their user-friendly plug and play functionality, the new Pfaff-silberblau CMLA products can be quickly and easily started up. All electrical components such as motor, brakes and limit switch are completely pre-wired and the drives feature a connector cable between two and four metres in length that make them easy to install. The CMLA absorbs tensile and compressive forces and can be installed and used in every position. This provides for reliable positioning as well as high repeatability. Multi-variant modular system The CMLA is available in four sizes for loads between 500 kg and 1,300 kg with three different transmissions each for slow, medium and fast lifting speeds. Four different standard lift lengths are available for each size: P50 and P70 with 150 mm, 300 mm, 450 mm and 600 mm lift as well as P90 and P125 with 250 mm, 500 mm, 750 mm und 1,000 mm lift. An AC~3 phase and optional 24V DC motor are available for P50 and P70; P90 and P125 come exclusively with AC~3 phase motors. Each motor can be optionally fitted with a brake. The CMLA can be operated in temperatures ranging from 0°C to + 60°C and has safety class IP65 for both motor and brake. More compact than the rest The drive motors of the CMLA linear drives were specially developed for demanding industrial applications and provide maximum performance in a small size. This makes the Pfaff-silberblau CMLA more compact and easier to integrate than other drives in the same load class. Power is transmitted from the motor to the spindle via a high-quality spur gear system. High-quality ball bearings are exclusively used for all rotating parts to ensure maximum longevity. Combined, all this guarantees disruption-free operations and a long life for the CMLA electro-mechanical linear drive, even in a demanding industrial environment.
