Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products equips BRAUN Möbel-Center with BGV C1 wire rope winches from Pfaff-silberblau |
The company Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products GmbH, Kissing (Germany), is using its reliable wire rope winches of the Pfaff-silberblau brand, proven in stage technology, now also increasingly in interior design applications. In the foyer of its new building at the Offenburg site, the furniture retailer BRAUN Möbel-Center, Reutlingen, uses Pfaff-silberblau electric wire rope winches for displaying variable decorative objects suspended from the ceiling. Because persons also pass by below the suspended loads in this application, the responsible architecture firm Tutebau opted in the planning phase for lifting equipment with BGV C1 certification from Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products. Large loads up to 800 kg suspended overhead Tutebau endeavoured on the one hand to facilitate an inspiring shopping experience for the customers, whilst also creating scope for presenting products and decorations highly effectively on the other. This is also in line with the strategy of BRAUN Möbel-Center, whose ten markets seamlessly combine an attractive presentation, a contemporary product range, excellent customer service and professional delivery and assembly. For Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products, this project involved moving loads of up 800 kg and the provision of a power supply to the exhibit. Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products installed two BETA BGV C1 electric wire rope winches from Pfaff-silberblau in addition to cable reels for the power supply. Both the wire rope and the power supply line run on guide rollers along the roof of the foyer. The wire rope winch is operated with a connectable control pendant, which reliably prevents unauthorised operation. Useful range up to almost 15 m height Using the lifting equipment from Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products, it is now possible to install decorations simply on BRAUN Möbel-Center’s premises at any height in a useful range of 14.50 m without additional safety devices and to move these with a lifting speed of up to 4.60 m/min. The system works with two independently acting brakes, two-fold gearing and ten-fold rope safety. The project was executed from planning through to installation by Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products.
