Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products supplies quick lifting screw jacks of the Pfaff-silberblau brand as far afield as Vladivostok
Contracts from the south-eastern part of Russia for demanding electrochemical applications in gigantic dimensions are something special even for a global supplier of sophisticated screw jacks like Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products. The manufacturer from Kissing (Germany) supplies SHG G90 quick lifting screw jacks of the Pfaff-silberblau brand as far afield as Vladivostok. The driving elements are used in a new production line for the surface treatment of very large components, which e.g. is suitable for the aluminium anodizing of aircraft components with a total length of up to 14 m.

The immersion basin is equipped with a lifting device, consisting of two powerful lifting jacks. The Pfaff-silberblau quick lifting screw jacks of the type SHG G90 are integrated in this steel construction. The load is transferred via a lever arm to the carrying nut of the screw jack. Lateral forces are adsorbed by the guides in the steel construction. The axially lifting trapezoidal screw of the gearbox according to type 1 is designed for a total lift of up to 4.00 m. The maximum lifting capacity is 90 kN for a screw torque of almost 400 Nm. This means that it is also possible to immerse very large and heavy sheet metal parts into the basin for treatment.

The workpieces are attached to the racks on a transverse bar, which is moved vertically by lifting arms. The two lifting arms are moved by the quick lifting screw jacks via the trapezoidal screws. To prevent the rack from tilting and to ensure that the components are immersed evenly into the basin, it is essential that the screws operate synchronously.

To ensure the desired synchronisation, the movements of the lifting arms are synchronised electrically. Pfaff-silberblau meets the high requirements in terms of the synchronisation by using whirled trapezoidal screws with a pitch accuracy of at least 0.05 mm. The virtually backlash-free helical gears and the precision screw jacks ensure a low total clearance in the system and allow the synchronisation to be controlled in the range of less than 0.1 mm.

An electrically controlled safety nut for monitoring the wear and protecting the load from falling in case of wear ensures optimal safety in the SHG G90 quick lifting screw jack and accordingly also in the whole lifting device.
