"Small" Expansion of the ALS Series of Electromechanical Screw Rams from Pfaff-silberblau
Size-10 "ALS/ALSR" extends well-proven line up of ALS drives.
Friedberg, Germany, August 9, 2005 – In conjunction with Motek 2005 (27 - 30 September 2005 in Sinsheim, Germany) Pfaff-silberblau Hebezeugfabrik GmbH & Co. KG, of Derching/Friedberg in Germany is expanding its "ALS" series of all-purpose electromechanical screw rams: In addition to the size-25 through size-100 devices that are widely available on the market, the system is now being supplemented to include a size-10 system. By offering the "small" ALS 10, Pfaff-silberblau is closing the design engineering gap between Electromechanical Linear Actuators ("ELAs") and what until now have been the smallest electromechanical screw rams, in size 25.

As is the case with all ALS drives from Pfaff-silberblau's modular system, the size-10 systems are also available in two versions: One is the compact version with a fully encapsulated enclosure unit (ALS 10); the other is for installation outdoors, or in areas subjected to dirt and grime, as a completely closed cylinder version (ALSR 10) that consists of a shaft and piston structure. The axial travel is accomplished at a maximum dynamic axial force of 12.5 kN, either via a self-locking trapezoidal screw or via a ball screw. The ALS/ALSR 10 is available with the standard stroke lengths of 100 mm, 200 mm, 300 mm and 400 mm, or with custom stroke lengths upon request. Depending on the load and the cyclic duration factor, the lifting speeds range from 0.5m/min to 10 m/min. If required, direct mounting of a flange-fitting gear motor is also possible.

Thanks to its modular design, the ALS/ALSR 10 can handle linear drive tasks with the same flexibility offered by the larger versions of Pfaff-silberblau's ALS drives. They can be adapted for all kinds of applications and are employed in areas such as traditional metal working and tool making, as well as in the automotive, paper, and aerospace industries.
