ERNI Electronics Offers PROFIBUS Connectors in New Compact Design |
ERbic connectors provide space saving and reliable field bus connections based on new ERNI D-Sub connectors |
Adelberg, October 12, 2009 – ERNI Electronics continuously expands its well established ERbic field bus connectors for the Profibus, CANbus and SafetyBus standards. Redesigned and easy to use Profibus switch versions with or without a programming interface are now available. The new field bus connectors benefit from the latest ERNI Type 8 D-Sub connector generation offering high precision, stability and contact reliability. With the new ERbic Profibus versions the external dimensions have been reduced. The compact design offers a form factor adjusted to Siemens PLCs. All enclosed parts are preassembled. An exchangeable cable strain relief for cable diameters from 6 – 9mm (8mm premounted) is available. To meet various application requirements different well established cable connection techniques are offered, such as IDC terminals (provides fast connections and replaces the dismantling of the bus wires), cage clamp or screw terminals. The bus connectors can be imprinted using the standard ID plate. The variable connection techniques and cable strain relief provide customers with highest flexibility for field bus connections. The new ERbic Profibus devices need only a standard screwdriver for assembly/disassembly and provide a perfect visibility of switch status due to red lever. There is a large area for custom labeling, while neutral versions and variants with custom company logo can be supplied. The new Profibus connectors are designed for data rates up to 12Mbit/s in applications according to IP20. The complete in-house production ensures the proven ERNI quality across the total process chain from design, construction, assembly, soldering to inspection. |
