ERNI Electronics provides extremely robust D-Sub SMT connectors |
Secure mounting accessories and double shield connection |
Adelberg – August 5, 2014– The robustness of the D-Sub I/O connectors is beyond doubt. But ERNI Electronics has further improved the robustness and reliability with a new series of D-Sub SMT connectors. The new series with secure mounting accessories protects from inappropriate handling, i.e. from pulling out of nuts and bolts or from metal house stripping. Large surface soldering brackets ensure a high retention force on the board, which is a key criterion for SMT components. In addition a double shield connection has been realized which ensures a reliable continuous grounding contact between the board and the metal protection collar. Based on this the EMC is significantly improved for the new series of D-Sub connectors. The new extremely robust D-Sub series with male and female connectors is available with Eurostyle (3.6 mm) assembly heights and 9, 15 and 25 pins. A 37-pin Eurostyle variant and versions with Standard (7.3 mm) and US Style assembly heights (6.3 mm) will be introduced end of 2014. The mounting accessories on the mating side are thread and bolt (M3 and 4-40). On the terminal side the mounting options are solder brackets. |
