09.03.2023 13:15 Infineon's AURIX™ & TRAVEO™ microcontroller families extend their support for IEC 61508 hardware and software metrics enabling industrial safety up to SIL-3
Munich, Germany – 9 March, 2023 – Industrial control systems must have a minimal error rate even in harsh environments, making safe and secure system development  crucial. The AURIX™ TC3x and TRAVEO™ T2G microcontroller product families from Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) address these requirements with a wide range of integrated hardware functional safety and cybersecurity features. Both product families have extended their support for the IEC 61508 hardware and software metrics, including all documentation required for functional safety certification. In addition, Infineon’s AUTOSAR Microcontroller Abstraction Layer (MCAL) low level driver software product also supports the IEC 61508 metrics.
08.03.2023 13:15 High-voltage MCU with USB-C PD and buck-boost charging controller, streamlining embedded system design
Munich, Germany – 8 March, 2023 – USB-C has been widely adopted as the connector of choice in the consumer electronics industry and is expected to replace the majority of conventional power adapters up to 240 W. As the world transitions to USB-C-based DC power sources, fast-charging protocols are becoming ubiquitous, enabling greater functionality and improved user experience. To meet the demands of this trend, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) has released the EZ-PD™ PMG1-B1 complementing the EZ-PD PMG1 family of high-voltage microcontrollers (MCU) with USB-C power delivery (PD).
07.03.2023 14:15 Automotive Safety and Cybersecurity: Infineon's AURIX™ TC3xx, TC4x, TRAVEO™ T2G & PSoC families of microcontrollers support Rust
Munich, Germany – 7 March, 2023 – The development of secure systems is critical for the automotive market. The Rust programming language, with its built-in support for memory-safe software development, is an important enabler for the design of mission-critical automotive software. Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) takes the first step to create a Rust ecosystem in the embedded sector. This makes the company the first major semiconductor manufacturer to officially support Rust for its microcontrollers. First up are the market-leading AURIX™ TC3xx and TRAVEO™ T2G automotive MCUs. While TRAVEO™ uses the official Rust tool chain and Arm Cortex-M targets, a dedicated Rust compiler has been developed for AURIX by Infineon's tool partner HighTec EDV-Systeme. PSoC and AURIX TC4x support will follow in the second half of 2023.
