KG expands the high-power Prime Switch family with the new Press Pack IGBT (PPI) with internal freewheeling diodes (FWD) in Ceramic Disc Housings. This PPI is specifically designed for transmission and distribution applications and is ideal for high current Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC), medium voltage drives, DC breakers, wind turbine converters and traction systems. |

Infineon expands CoolSiC™ portfolio, 2 kV voltage class to enable simple, high-power density solutions for 1500 VDC applications |

Munich, Germany – 10 May, 2022 – The increasing demand for high-power density is pushing developers to adopt 1500 VDC link in their applications to increase the rated power-per-inverter and reduce system costs. However, 1500 VDC based systems also pose more challenges on the system design, such as fast switching at high DC voltage, which typically requires a multi-level topology. This leads to a complicated design and a relatively high number of components. Munich, Germany – 6 May, 2022 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) today launched the new TRENCHSTOP™ 1700 V IGBT7 chip in the standard industrial package EconoDUAL™ 3. With this new chip technology, the EconoDUAL 3 provides a leading current of 900 A and 750 A, and enables an improved power range for inverters. The modules target a wide range of applications including wind, drive and static VAR generators (SVG). |

The essential personal data, privacy and fraud-protection requirements in RED are planned to take effect on August 1, 2024 in the European Union (EU). All products falling under this ruling must comply with the defined standards by July 2024, the latest. |
