With PROFET™ Wire Guard, Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) provides developers with advanced wire protection for modern power distribution. Compared to conventional fuses, the product family can emulate the stress characteristics of the wires much more accurately with an integrated and precise I²t wire protection curve, which can be selected from six implemented curves depending on the application requirements. Combined with other features, the integrated I²t wire protection accuracy enables wire harness optimization when replacing mechanical relays and fuses. |

Telekommunikationsanwendungen erfordert MOSFETs mit einem robusten linearen Betriebsmodus sowie einem niedrigen RDS(on). Die Infineon Technologies AG adressiert diese Herausforderung mit dem neuen OptiMOS™ 5 Linear FET 2, einem MOSFET, der den idealen Kompromiss zwischen dem RDS(on) eines Trench-MOSFET und dem breiten sicheren Betriebsbereich (Safe Operating Area / SOA) eines klassischen Planar-MOSFET bietet. Der Baustein verhindert Schäden an der Last, indem er den hohen Einschaltstrom begrenzt. Durch seinen niedrigen RDS(on) sorgt er für minimale Verluste im Betrieb. Im Vergleich zur Vorgängergeneration (dem OptiMOS Linear FET) bietet der OptiMOS Linear FET 2 einen verbesserten SOA bei höheren Temperaturen, einen geringeren Gate-Leckstrom und eine größere Gehäuseauswahl. Dadurch können mehr MOSFETs pro Controller parallelgeschaltet werden, was die Stücklistenkosten senkt und dank des erweiterten Produktportfolios mehr Flexibilität beim Design bietet. |
