Wolfgang Mayrhuber unanimously elected new Supervisory Board Chairman |
Neubiberg, Germany – February 17, 2011 – The Annual General Meeting of Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), today appointed Wolfgang Mayrhuber, with 98.4 percent of the votes, as shareholder representative to the Supervisory Board. Following the Annual General Meeting, the Supervisory Board unanimously elected Wolfgang Mayrhuber as its new Chairman. Wolfgang Mayrhuber is a mechanical engineer by training, and was CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG from June 2003 until the end of 2010. He has a strong international network and many years of experience in complex technical business areas. The former Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Prof. Dr. Klaus Wucherer resigned from the Board after the 2011 Annual General Meeting, as announced at his appointment last year. Infineon would like to thank Prof. Dr. Klaus Wucherer for his constructive work and strong commitment. He joined the Supervisory Board at the company´s beginning and became Chairman in 2010. Under his chairmanship the company has further increased its profitability and has successfully focused its portfolio on high-margin and less volatile businesses. |
