Infineon Makes Donation to Help Japan’s Natural Disaster Victims
Neubiberg, Germany – March 18, 2011 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) is donating Euro 100,000 to the Japanese Red Cross Society to help Japan’s natural disaster victims.

Furthermore, Infineon’s Singapore office is making arrangements for humanitarian aid (worth Euro 100,000) in the form of batteries and drinking water for the crisis region.

“We are all dismayed at the extent of this incredible suffering and destruction in Japan. Although our colleagues and friends are safe and doing well, this disaster has changed their lives and the lives of all people living in Japan. We, at Infineon, are all personally committed to supporting the people during the country’s reconstruction,” says Peter Bauer, CEO of Infineon Technologies AG.

Infineon employs a little more than 100 people in Japan; 95 of whom are Tokyo-based.  The semiconductor manufacturer has offered assistance for these employees to leave the region. It has rented accommodations and offices for employees and their families at further south situated locations in Osaka and Nagoya.
