Inova Semiconductors recognised as innovation leader in Germany |
F.A.Z.-Institut names Munich-based semiconductor company among the leading innovation drivers in its latest study "Germany's Digital Innovation Leaders 2020" |
Munich, 11. January 2021 – Within the competitive arena of global innovation, Germany is represented not only by world-renowned companies, but also by 'hidden champions'. Particularly in the current crisis, innovative and digitally equipped companies are better able to survive and are set up for the future. The report "Germany's Digital Innovation Leaders 2020" provides an up-to-date, differentiated and comprehensive overview of Germany's digital innovation leaders. For the study, the F.A.Z.-Institut and the IMWF Institute for Management and Economic Research collaborated with Prognos AG as scientific partners. As a result of the study, the F.A.Z.-Institut – a subsidiary of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung German daily newspaper – awarded Inova Semiconductors the certificate "Germany's Innovation Leader". The analysis was based on the patenting activities of the companies and research establishments using data from the EPO Worldwide Patent Statistical Database, (PATSTAT) of the European Patent Office. Patents allow a far-reaching insight into the research activities of companies, which cannot be provided by any other data source. The innovation and leadership of companies in Germany are measured using two metrics: leadership – how much does an invention influence other inventions? and novelty/innovativeness of the invention – how much can an invention be differentiated from previous inventions? "We are delighted to receive this award from the F.A.Z.-Institut as a digital innovation leader in Germany as it particularly recognises our development achievements in the field of gigabit/s communication and the digitalisation of light in the automotive sector," said Robert Kraus, CEO of Inova Semiconductors. "With our APIX and ISELED solutions, we have been and continue to be pioneers in introducing innovative technologies that open up new possibilities and offer added value for our customers." For the study, 150,000 companies operating worldwide and in Germany were surveyed and 485 of them were identified as innovation leaders. The names of the innovation leaders were published exclusively on the website of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: https://www.faz.net/asv/digitale-innovationsfuehrer/ The competition does not provide a simple general ranking, but distinguishes between technological fields, which increases comparability. Consequently, innovation leaders were identified for a total of 389 technological fields such as audio-vision, control or digital communication. Inova Semiconductors was recognised for its innovative strength in the field of "Digital Communication/High-Speed Networks". |
