In its study "Digital Innovator 2021", the PC magazine Chip ranks the Munich-based semiconductor company as one of the most innovative companies in Germany |
Munich, 17. February 2021 – Together with the experts from Globis Management Consulting, the PC magazine Chip has conducted a comprehensive study of digital innovations. The aim was to find German companies that excel in the digital ideas competition and drive current developments forward. Inova Semiconductors was honoured as "Digital Innovator 2021" for its innovative strength in the field of "Electronics". Robert Kraus, CEO of Inova Semiconductors, is delighted about receiving the award again: "I am really proud of this great achievement by the entire team. The award as one of the most innovative companies in Germany impressively shows that even after many years in business, we are a highly creative company and have the ambition and, above all, the skills to be at the cutting edge of technology in the high-tech industry, and here also in the premier class – the automotive market." The patents of the companies served as a gauge of their innovative strength. The study is limited to German applicants; the patent applications from 2017 to 2019 form the most important data basis. Only patent classes relevant to digital technology were evaluated. These are, for example, the areas of data processing, voice analysis and recognition, storage and communication technology. But also patents in the fields of semiconductor components, electronic switching or electrical communications engineering were included in the analysis. In the above-mentioned period, about 15,000 patents were registered worldwide for German applicants, including about 5,000 first-time applications. In total, just under 3,000 German applicants were involved in the registrations. A large number of applicants participated as co-applicants with many other applicants of a patent. The patents were then counted proportionally. In this way, 2,175 applicants were identified who had filed at least one patent application and were relevant for the study. A total of 186 companies from over a dozen sectors were identified and honoured as digital innovators. The complete study is published on the website of the PC magazine Chip. |
