TASKING extends the VX-toolset for ARM
The new version also supports the TRAVEO™ T2G microcontroller family from Infineon.
Munich, Germany, 19 April 2022 – TASKING presents the new version v6.0r1 of the VX-Toolset for ARM Cortex-M. The compiler toolchain now also supports the Infineon TRAVEO™ T2G microcontroller family based on ARM Cortex-M4 / Cortex-M7.

Infineon and TASKING have been working together for many years on the software development tools for TriCore™/AURIX™ (TC2x, TC3x and TC4x). With the expansion of the toolset to support the TRAVEO T2G family, TASKING now offers toolchains for Infineon's entire MCU portfolio. This means that compilers for both TRAVEO T2G and AURIX are now available from a single tool partner. This simplifies the work of users who use both AURIX and TRAVEO T2G microcontrollers. But also new customers developing body and comfort applications will benefit from the extended possibilities.

“The upgrade of the VX-Toolset for ARM Cortex-M creates a strong ecosystem for our TRAVEO T2G microcontrollers,” said Ralf Ködel, Vice President Microcontroller at Infineon. “This allows TASKING and Infineon to support and expand the joint customer base.”

“We are pleased to further deepen our cooperation with Infineon by now supporting TRAVEO T2G with the VX-Toolset for ARM Cortex-M,” says Florian Süßmair, Director Product Marketing at TASKING. “Especially customers who already use our toolchains for AURIX will now benefit from the extension: they get a TASKING compiler for TRAVEO T2G in the usual quality and based on the same technology as the AURIX toolchains.”

The VX-Toolset for ARM Cortex-M is qualified according to ISO 26262 up to ASIL D. TÜV certification is planned for this year. With the toolchain, TASKING also supplies a safety manual: As long as users follow the recommendations described there, they can use the toolchain for the development of safety-critical applications up to ASIL D without any further qualification measures. This significantly simplifies and accelerates the certification of the system and reduces costs for the customer.
