Pre-Configured NCAP AEB/VRU Test Procedures in DYNA4 R9 |
Munich, Germany, 2024-10-01 - The new Release 9 of Vector DYNA4 includes preconfigured virtual test drive scenarios for AEB and FCW functions according to Euro NCAP 2023, including automated evaluation as specified in the test protocols. The NCAP test maneuvers are completely implemented in the ASAM standard OpenSCENARIO XML and can be executed directly in DYNA4. In addition, Vector makes them available free of charge as open-source downloads on Github. The new release also simplifies the use of ASAM OSI, e.g. making it easier to connect external sensors or ADAS driving functions. Virtual NCAP tests as preparation for the real test track Euro NCAP AEB and FCW tests can only be carried out at great effort on a real test site. To optimally prepare these tests, DYNA4 R9 offers automated, simulation-based test drives in accordance with the NCAP test protocol 2023. These have been fully implemented using the ASAM standards OpenDRIVE and OpenSCENARIO XML 1.3. The test spectrum includes both VRU (Vulnerable Road Users) collision scenarios with pedestrians and cyclists as well as C2C (Car-to-Car) collision scenarios with vehicles. Vector makes this set of standard-compliant OpenSCENARIO XML files available free of charge on Github at https://vctr.it/ncap-github. DYNA4 also includes an automated KPI computation of the virtual test drive results with reporting based on the NCAP assessment schema. Thanks to the flexible function integration in DYNA4 as Simulink model, C-Code, FMU, AUTOSAR code and the real ECU, tests are supported throughout the entire development process. Significantly simplified use of ASAM OSI In addition, DYNA4 R9 offers much easier use of the ASAM OSI standard, which defines standardized interfaces for communication between different models. The use of OSI makes it straightforward to integrate exported DYNA4 models in co-simulation environments, for example with external sensor models or automated driving functions. This is now even more comfortable with the consistent implementation of OSI Sensor Model Packaging (OSMP) in DYNA4 R9: when exporting DYNA4 models as FMUs, externally routed OSI signals are automatically exposed in compliance with the standard. OSI signals are also suitable for recording simulation results. DYNA4 embeds the binary OSI data in the ASAM MDF format and, with the current release R9, offers user-friendly options for analyzing it after the simulation. The content can be displayed graphically with just a few mouse clicks, while the new Python MDF wrapper allows programmatic evaluation of the OSI messages.
