Mainz (Germany) – 21 June 2023 – ELTEC Elektronik AG is changing its company name and will be known as Westermo Eltec GmbH as of 20 June 2023 in order to make its affiliation with Westermo clear and to strengthen the brand name in the market. The high-tech company Westermo already acquired 100 % of the shares in ELTEC Elektronik AG in April 2021. The integration process is continuing apace.

Mainz (Germany) – 30. November 2022 – Marco Gerhard was appointed Managing Director of ELTEC Elektronik in mid-November. The company is a business unit of Westermo and part of the listed Swedish Beijer Group. He succeeds Peter Albert, who took over the management of the Mainz-based technology company more than 10 years ago and will now devote himself to new tasks.

Mainz – June 21, 2022 – ELTEC Elektronik, a business unit of Westermo and part of the Swedish BEIJER GROUP, has launched the PCEye MC-R, a robust, modular computing platform with various CPU options for scaling performance. The PCEye MC-R is an individually configurable BoxPC suitable for railway applications in a very compact design with interfaces for Gigabit Ethernet, RS232/422/485, DisplayPort, USB 3.0 and audio in the basic version. Thanks to its modular design, the basic system can be extended with up to seven interface, communication or mass storage modules. In addition, the dedicated housing concept enables a variety of mounting options, from DIN rail to 19" rackmount.

Mainz – May 25, 2022 – ELTEC Elektronik introduces an access point with integrated antenna, developed in cooperation with HUBER+SUHNER, which revolutionizes Wi-Fi installation in rail carriages due to its compactness and enables railway operators to provide significantly higher data throughput per passenger for a better on-board Wi-Fi experience. The CyBox AP-A provides stable, secure, and broadband connections between the local Ethernet and mobile devices, enabling users to communicate with the Internet or access local data such as timetable information and multimedia data in a passenger train or underground according to the latest standards.

Mainz  – 19 July 2021 –  After ELTEC Elektronik, a business unit of Westermo and, thus, part of the Swedish BEIJER GROUP, already equipped its router family with 5G functionality last year, it is now the turn of the gateways:  With the CyBox GW 2-P, ELTEC is now launching its first mobile 5G and Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 gateway for high-speed communication especially for use in trains. The CyBox GW 2-P was developed in compliance with the (German) railway standard EN 50155 and designed for an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +70 °C. Compared to the LTE version, the new CyBox GW 2-P enables significantly higher transmission rates of up to 2.4 Gbit/s download and 500 Mbit/s upload for each 5G modem.
